Is NationStates The Next Horizon?

I am reposting this after the deface; this got deleted. I’d like to take advantage of this to introduce some new terms in hopes that they will help popularize this idea. If you are a remainer, you do not want to leave the Club Penguin sphere (this includes CPPSes). If you are a mover, you want to leave the Club Penguin sphere. If you are a mayor, you want to move to NationStates.

KLONDIKE, CPA Central Headquarters – Club Penguin is closing. It is a sad, sad day for Armies. Not only have we lost our platform, but we have lost our childhood game. Nostalgia is said to be the greatest sadness, because it cannot be appeased. Look at the bright side, though. Think of it as a sort of omen that Club Penguin shut down so recently after I wrote my article trying to convince the Army community to move to NationStates. In some ways, the shut down is a good thing, because now everyone, including the people with conservative attitudes, are facing a life or death situation. We have to move, or we have to die. What will it be?

I have not seen anyone putting forward for consideration a move to NationStates, despite my recent publications, which fails to fulfill my hopes and expectations. Instead, many have brought up the idea of a move to the Club Penguin Private Servers, which is an idea lacking in imagination and acumen. Moving to Club Penguin Private Servers would not get rid of many problems or issues facing the community at all. If anything, they would make many larger, greater, and stronger, such as the multilogging issue. Some would say that there is no more progress, advancement, or development to be made. This dogma is misleading and very wrong, because NationStates solves and eradicates pretty much all the problems and issues we face in the Army community in the present time, including the worst and most pressing of them all: the inevitable apocalypse of the Club Penguin platform.

In one of my previous articles, Beeky128778 stated:

If your veterinarian recommended euthanizing your animal as opposed to forcing it to live in spite of its suffering, your response probably would not be in favor of letting its life continue.

This is a blatantly absurd analogy lacking in good sense. The move to NationStates would be like providing a means of healing your greatly loved pet and restoring it to health. The move would solve and eradicate our problems and issues. The move would set into motion the New Golden Age of the Club Penguin Army Community. It is understandable to shed your tears over the closure of Club Penguin. It is illogical to shed your tears over the end of our community. That is something we, collectively, can put an end to. Why would we not?

I know this was a brief post, but it had to be done. I will leave you with three quotes.

Every morning brings new potential, but if you dwell on the misfortunes of the day before, you tend to overlook tremendous opportunities.

Well Nachos, this is it. This is the end. I was on Club Penguin tonight and I was waddling around and thinking to myself how many good memories I had here. Not just Army battles and events and such, I mean having fun with friends. Going home everyday after school calling your friends to get on and play, it was some great times. I remember when I first learned of this online game and I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it! But alas I did not have a computer to play on so I used my friends and my families computers to play whenever I could. Then the day came when my same friend told me about this Army call the Nachos, so I went on the website and signed up, but I could not stay active so I took a few months off…until the day came when I got my very own family desktop. Then something happened on chat that, uh, let’s say…killed my family desktop, that kept me from coming on anymore. I will tell the story at my end of era post on March 28th. Club Penguin has changed a lot and not for the better but at least they kept it alive and somewhat fun. Today I will admit a little part of me died today. Club Penguin was home to us all at some point of our lives. I am just happy that former leaders and legends are coming back to share the pain/enjoyment of our final days as an official Club Penguin Army. In these next two months I want every Member, Moderator, Owner, Leader, Former Leaders, and Legends to remember the good times that we all have had on that virtual island. And to make our final months something to remember. Until my next post…

We need change. We have no reason to stay here. The game was fun before, yes, when we were children. But children no longer have fun playing this game and neither do we. While we’re all getting older and so are our troops, we deserve to switch to a more popular game for older troops and leaders. This game is meant for children but there are little to no children left here. Why would we stay? We need to rebuild from the ashes that is this community and switch to a game that is more our maturity.
Let’s look at this way. When you’re born you wear baby clothing, and as you get older you grow out of that clothing and have to get something more and new. Club Penguin is our babies clothing for this community and it’s starting to outgrow the clothing, but we’re to afraid to buy it new clothes.

This comment won’t matter, the question this post is based off of is as old as this community, “What are we going to do when we die.”. I do NOT believe that we should just leave it. Tell me this, if you saw a child on the streets crying and homeless would you walk away or would you find it a new home? You can’t look at this community like it needs to be in it’s baby clothing for it’s entire life. We are not Club Penguin Armies, we’re a family. We’re all here for the same thing, we aren’t here for Club Penguin. We’re here for the people that are here and that’s why we haven’t left yet, we don’t want to leave our friends and the people we interact with everyday. So why do people keep saying that we should let this community die. Obviously nobody wants to leave what we’ve created and there is no reason that we should have to either.

Obviously the biggest problem we’re trying to fix is looking for a game that fits all the needs we need as well as Club Penguin. But as time moves on, games are getting more intense and Club Penguin is that game that was very basic, which fitted our needs. We wanted basic, fast and easy. Games like that are running low and even better ones are coming out. That’s why we can’t keep looking for something LIKE Club Penguin. We need move on. Look for games that is fun for everybody.

Sure, leaving the past behind is something none of us want to do. Club Penguin Armies, if you want to say it or not, is one of the best things that ever happened to our lives. We come here everyday to talk to each other and we simply battle it out on a game we grew up on. Change is never easy. You fight to hold on and you fight to let go..

Club Penguin should be the first of the many games this community has gone through. It doesn’t need to be one game, we can evolve into something more. Obviously what we’ve done here isn’t going to go anywhere. It will be in our minds forever throughout our life. But I want to keep this going as much as anyone else. Club Penguin isn’t working, change games.

Summary: I’m emotional over Club Penguin because I’m a loser. We should change games, none of us want to leave this behind.
Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.

So, what do YOU think? Is NationStates a viable way forward? Or will CPPSes work out for us?

  1. Other game(s) are next horizon (Warface? Unturned? League of Legends? Roblox? Other game(s)?).

    • You’d be a mover if you want to switch to a game other then NationStates. Personally, I don’t care which game it is, as long as it works.
