9/11: A Flight To Remember

15 years ago today, at times approximately between 8:46 a.m. – 10:28 a.m., the world experienced, witnessing in great disgust, one of the most devastating terrorist attacks known to man. The attack on the World Trade Centre’s Twin Towers and The Pentagon.

On this very day 15 years ago, as people took their usual commute to work in New York City, Manhattan, America, with many having unknowingly said their final goodbyes to their families, in person, for the last time.
For those who are not clear on what 9/11 was, in summary, it was a planned terrorist attack which was carried forth by the al-Qaeda. The attacks consisted of suicide attacks which were used to target symbolic American landmarks; the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. With all four of the hijacked planes, only two of which causing impact and loss, originally departed from airports on the U.S. East Coast, by 19 terrorists.
With the Twin Towers being a set of two, the terrorist attack consisted of two passenger flights, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into both the North and South tower. Within just under two hours, the two towers collapsed; with the initial crash, smoke and suffocation, collapse and debris killing just short of 3000 people (not including those whom may have never been counted for, with no reminiscence of their existence), and with 6000+ non-fatal injuries.

The third flight, American Airlines Flight 77, proceeded to crash into the west side of The Pentagon, which holds the headquarters of the United States department of defence, in Arlington County, Virginia.
The final flight included in the attacks, United Airlines Flight 93, was originally headed to Washington D.C., but crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennyslvania.

Seeing as this date marks one of which that proves truly one of the most devistating attacks in history, we ask that you take a moment to reflect on the events that occurred at any point of the day, remembering the lives of which were affected by injuries, the loss of loved ones and, most importsntly, the lives of those which were themselves lost unexpectedly throughout all of the attacks.
